On May sixteenth of two-thousand eighteen, I was admitted to Park Place Surgical Hospital, located at 4811 Ambassador Caffery Pkwy, Lafayette, LaLA 70508. Dr Louis Mes, my plastic surgeon, scheduled me for a Breast Reduction early that morning. As my husband and I arrived we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and escorted to the surgery waiting area for admission. Shortly after we checked in, my name was called to be prepped for surgery. I entered my holding room where I met my pre admitpre-admit nurse, Nicole. Nicole was very optimistic and made me feel comfortable right away. One of the first things she did was ask my husband for his cell number to update him veryevery two hours while I’mI was in surgery. Nicole made sure that not only I was stress freestress-free, but my husband was informed on every detail, while not having the anticipation about what was happening next while waiting.
Once I was prepped for surgery, my anesthesiologist and surgeon educated me on what would happen once I’mI was taken into the operating room. The anesthesiologist told me that I would be intubated once I’mI was under anesthesia. Intubation is inserting a endotracheal tube through the mouth and then into the airway. It is done so that the patient can be assisted with breathing while under anesthesia. Dr Mes also informed me that he would place a foley into my bladder after intubation, since I would be in for a long period of time.
