This diploma thesis deals with a realistic rendering of advanced optical phenomena in the 3-dimensional (3D) scene. These are phenomena that cannot render the basic algorithm of ray tracing, and for that it iwas necessary to implement advanced technology and lighting models, for more realistic depictions of the scene. The principles of these methods awere based on stochastic methods that were used to create an application for rendering these optical phenomena. Results of calculated scenes awere compared with each other so as, to be able to evaluate which technique is best suited for a given problem.
