Abstract:
Hybridizing surface-modified nanomaterials (SMNs) with catalytic membrane reactors (MRs)
will beoffer an innovative to developmeans for developing environmental catalysis. Herein, we have overviewedreviewed the recent advances ofin SMNs based catalytic MRs, and in their context, we delivered the possible challenges and opportunities towards addressing environmental issues. This book chapter discusses the potential impact of hybrid SMNs and polymeric catalytic MRs on the environmental industry. The biological membranes have minimal industrial applications, and inorganic (silica) membranemembranes also restrictsrestrict its use for large-scale industriousindustrial processes. This chapter only covers nonbiological catalysts, and special attention has been paid to environmental catalytic applications of nanoparticle (NP) based polymeric membranes. ShortThe limitations of nanomaterials are also givenpresented; however, to overcome this, we have provided advanced incorporation methodology is also provided, with the advantageous composition of polymeric membranes, their selection criteria, essential characterization methods, and the precise catalytic application of NPs based polymeric MRs are discussed here.
