RE: Mandate seeking on 2021/2022 public service salary increase offer.
As mandated by the Regional Bargaining Forum (RBF) meeting held on 01 June 2021, the branch held a mandate seeking Branch General Meeting (BGM) on 02 June 2021.Employers The employers offer was presented to members and members deliberated on it.
The meeting was attended by 30 members and all comrades were in agreement that the offer is not appealing. AttendanceThe attendance register is attached to this letter.
As Stanza Bopape CHC Branch we are rejecting the offer based on the following reasons.
EmployerThe employer is offering a total of 4.2% of which
1.5% will mainly cover the employees who would not have qualified for pay progression,; those who are on the maximum/personal notch; and those who are new in the public service and have not completed the probation period. Knowing- knowing very well that the majority of our members will not qualify.
The R 978 Gratuity will come to an end of, which will have a negative impact on workers. An additional R 978 on a monthly basis for a period of 12 months means your living expenses will be adjusted and when that R978 graduitygratuity comes to an end , your salary will not be enough.
