For me, the capital punishment is an uncertain question. Last year, I had assisted at a debate on this subject and even after it, I couldn’t decide.
Well, maybe some people are truly monsters. Maybe they hadhave done horrible things, and maybe it’s better for everybody to kill them. Also, we wouldn’t waste money for killers. But, on the other hand, there are innocent people who are blamed for someone else’s crimes. How could we kill innocent people? I think it’s too hard for a person to decide who deservedeserves to live and who dies.
How could you sleep, as a judge, knowing you took someone’s life? And maybe, after weeks, you find out that the person was innocent. How would you feel? Or maybe we should choose people who won’t feel anything. They’ll just kill someone and sleep like a baby. But in this case, my question is, what is the difference between them? Between the prisoner who killed someone within cold blood and the judge, who killed the prisoner the same way, because even if they hadn’t pulled the trigger or syringe, the blood it’s still on their hands.
In conclusion, I’m not sure if the capital punishment it’sis a good idea or not. The only certain thing I know is that this would be definitely the hardest job someone could have.
