Have you ever felt that? That huge desire to know the world? I have. Captivated by curiosity, I selected socio-economic sciences as my area of studies, where I was fascinated to study Economics and Mathematics; Sometimessometimes, the curiosity leadleads us to make great discoveries.
Observing the world, we will notice that it is constantly influenced. An economy portrays a reality, and possesspossesses the power to shape and influence it. But who really influences who? Do people’s decisions influence the economy? Or is the economy the true influencer of our decisions?; Economics facilitated my comprehension of the environment we live in, understandunderstanding not only how the society acts but also how activities such as production, distribution and consumption of goods and services are fundamental for survival and quality of life. ThoughThrough the subject, I was able to see economic crises not as calamities but as phases that come from time to time,; they are inevitable but natural, which sometimes bring with them various problems such as poverty and unemployment. And the only thing we can do is to minimise itstheir impacts. Mathematics has become an indispensable tool for several sciences, known for having the capability to transformstransform the complex into the simple;. Whenever a problem arises, I try to solve it, and I end up discoverdiscovering in myself an indescribable sense of satisfaction and contentment coming from solving problems, trying. Trying to interpret them and find solutions makes me feel challenged.
For me, Economics can be seen as a combination of Philosophy and Mathematics that allows the joining of numbers, ideas and words to create theories and models that represent the various dynamics and characteristics of the functioning of society.
