What is law philosophy and references?philosophy? Why do you consider it an important component of justicejudicial institutions?
Rawan Obeid: “it“It is a protective and preventive philosophy more than a punitive philosophy. When we called it a protective law for the family, we meanmeant that we must enact and enforce this law. Certainly, punishments are necessary; yet, the basic philosophy of this law is family protection and security”.
Daoud Al-Deek: “The law’s basic philosophy aims to maintain the cohesion and unity of the Palestinian family. The law provides a legal framework that can help to reduce the rates of domestic violence among Palestinian families and the community.”
Shawan Jabarin: “The law serves to protect the family from discrimination, empowerempowering the family, and to promote the freedom, equality, and dignity of the family and its membermembers.”
Rawan Obeid: “We are based on many local references, the most important of which are the Palestine Declaration of Independence, Palestinian Basic Law, and domestic laws and regulations.”
Daoud Al-Deek: “Therefore, the law provides a solution and supports the efforts of the Palestinian state to reduce the growing phenomenon of domestic violence in the Palestinian society.”
Does the law reinforce the family fabric? Can it address the growing domestic violence against all forms of violence in the family?
Daoud Al-Deek: “Frankly, Violenceviolence is a multi-causal and multidimensional, and therefore it can be addressed through legal, economic, and social approaches.
