The experimental method of solving a problem is a fundamental of science, and is what I love the most about thethis subject. Ever since middle school when we made bottle rockets, the creationcreative aspect and the patience of conductingnecessary to conduct many trials sparked my interest in science classes. In high school, I geared my interest totowards the scienceScience department by taking the most advanced science classes possible. Additionally, I joined our Science Olympiad team to extend my knowledge in different applications and Fields of sciencescientific fields. I have been mostam mostly interested in chemistry. During my honors chemistry class, we were assigned unique Spring Projectsspring projects. After requesting a project that involved mathematical calculations, I was shocked to find out that I had received a project on equilibrium and explainingwhich allowed me to explain the qualitative theories behind my experiment. Through the completion of my experiment, 20 pagea 20-pages report, and my presentation, I grew inhoned my capabilities of explainingability to explain science rather than just doing calculations. The subject has inspired me even more, as I have been impacted by the improvements made in this field. For example, many members of my family have been affected by cancer. My Grandpagrandpa died from it before I was born, my Nananana has survived 4 different types of cancer 4- a different times and types,type each time - and, most recently, between my freshman and sophomore year, my Daddad was diagnosed and had surgery to remove his thyroid cancer. Along with the medical pasthistory of cancer in my family, my twin sister and I were IVF babiesconceived as the result of IVF after my mom had a miscarriage. I believe that my experiences have greatly influenced my passion for science, and a possiblepossibly put me on the medical trackpath as a doctor or a chemical engineer. I realize that, without important advancements, treatments for cancer and the process of how I was born would not have been invented. Science’s endless experimental componentscomponent and its ability to help others' lives isare what has drawndrew me to the subject, and has inspired me to go into a STEM field in the future.
