Our founding fathers werewho were a group of educated men amongst them were; James Madison, and Andrew Hamilton. They wanted to make sure that long after they were gone, they did their job. They wantwanted to make sure, that the future of the country they loved was secure. The decisions they made reflected this love and provided them with logical and long-term thinking. So it wouldn’t be an understatement to say their choices are still in effect today. They set the foundation infor how we not only live our lives but also run the country. They were very vocal on their opinions about things such as the popular vote, and the electoral vote. They gave many reasons for why they made the decisions that they did.
The Electoral College is made up of 538 electors, who choose the president by majority vote. The common misconception is that the voters think they vote for the president. In reality, voters choose the elector representatives, for their state. Who, who in return all meet up in December to elect the president and vice president. To win the election, a candidate must have a majority of votes. At, at least 270 of the 538 total possible votes. The whole nature of the electoral college it’smakes it very possible to win the election, without winning the popular vote.
