The Great Migration is a historical event which took place between 1910-1970 and saw over six million African Americans opt out of the south’s oppression. and inIn this case, the acts of cruelty and violence stemming from the Jim crowCrow laws, unfair wages, and job opportunities of the south caused this shift of events. Many of the African Americans involved in the Great migration saw themselves headed North. The effects of The Great Migration resulted in many African Americans having to sustain the harsh living and housing conditions, endure even greater racism/segregation in the North, and having to adjust to the customs of the city.
