The botanical survey of India ("BSI") and the Zoological Survey of India ("ZSI") have announced about the details of the discoveries in the annual publication "Planets Discoveries 2018 and Animal discoveriesDiscoveries 2018."
TheOf the overall record of the596 discoveries last year 596, 372 goesgo under the fauna classification, "311 of invertebrates and 61 of vertebrates". In addition, 224 of the new species go under the plant classification, which includes newly discovered types of seed plants, pteridophytes, bryophytes, fungi, and lichen.
