Part-time and full-time provisions are both offered in UK universities and Institutesinstitutes for Higherhigher education, aand a report published by HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England) in 2011 indicated that 57% of new entrants studied full-time, while 43% studied part-time as of 2008/09 statics HCFCE, (2011). By 2016/17 this statistic has risen to 77.6% for full-time students to 77.6% and decreased for part-time students to 24.4%., Universities UK, (2018). This decline is mainly due to an increase in tuition fees in the funding reform of 2012 and employersemployers' lack of confidence in part-time learners., Suttontrust, (2018). Time management is an important factor for students studying in the UK, and their success depends on how effectively they balance between work and study. BrainBrian Tracy identified four Ds in managing time as a guide to a successful approach to studying while working. Desire, decisiveness, determination and discipline are essentially effective strategies;: willingness to control time requires a decisive commitment to time management with a motivation to persist against temptations and self-control abilityand the ability to create time and utilise it effectively., Tracy, (2013). Young and matured students have different temptations to deviate from managing their time effectively, while younger students who are mainly full-time seemed to be distracted by social events and the desire to earn money in the fast growing retail sector of the UK job market, matured. Whereas mature students (mainly part-timers) are challenged by family commitments like picking up yourtheir children or the level of support from the family. Although full-time students are considered to have sufficient time availabletime for learning, there is a potential risk to miss deadlines due to over-confidence and procrastination. They are more likely to postpone their assignments and conduct other engagements than part-time students who have to diligently manage their time.
