In middle school, I’veI was always been aan anxious, impatient, and indecisive person in various situations. When I entered high school at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, those qualities would still adherestayed with me. As high school continued, I started to put in more effort in enhancing oninto addressing those bad habits by not letting them affect me in any way and having a positive mindset.
There willwould be days that I would have a basketball game and I would start feeling anxious. Mainly because of the competition we would go against, or even making the smallest mistake and losing the game for my entire team. Also, when I’m on the court, I start getting impatient and rushing to pass or to get points on the board. That obviously mademakes everything worstworse, because when youryou're playing the game, you have to make smart decisions and stay calm. In addition, sometimes I beganbegin to get indecisive ifon whether I should shoot, pass, or dribble. It can become difficult to determine what to do next while playing the game.
Not only do I have these poor standardshabits in basketball, but they can also occur during school also. For example, I will get nervous when I have to do assignments that involve speaking in front of the classroomclass. My voice wouldwill begin to tremble and I stammer in the middle of ana speech. Furthermore, if there are any presentations involved or speeches as a task, it puts me in the position that I become eageranxious. When that happens, I want to get it out of the way because I’ll constantly dwell on it and try to memorize whateverything that I want to say in front of the class.
