This essay aims to understand the importance of the Chicago School in relation to its contribution to the sociology of crime and Deviancedeviance. The contribution of the Chicago schoolSchool refers to acknowledging how urbanisation, geography, immigration and economics all played a role in inventing new theories of looking at how society works and how these factors can impact an individuals participation in crime and Deviancedeviance. Crime and Deviancedeviance refers to any actions that aim to break social norms that have been created and put into place by the society. A few examples of such actions that are deemed deviant include: murder, stealing, gambling, prostitution, etc. These actions can be either criminal or non-criminal.
