My job is important because I treat sick new born babies until they are discharged from the hospital. A Neonatal Nurse must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a four-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN). You must be certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and/or Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing. You may also be required to complete a minimum number of years of clinical experience in a hospital setting. I take care of newborns and treat them accordingly until they are able to be returned to their parents. Neonatal nurses use critical thinking to figure out what steps are needed to follow to get the newborns healthy.
