After completing the EI self-assessment, I received a score of 60 and recognized that my strength was to perceive and control my own emotions, rather than other people’s feelings. In fact, when I worked at a start-up company, I frequently faced many stresses and frustrations, since I was required to undertake different roles and tasks simultaneously such as a, marketering, testering, and administratiorn. After aone month, I started to feel overwhelmed and frustrated wiby the many everyday deadlines every day, that sometimes made me think about quitting mythe job. To resolve this problem, I tried to manage these negative emotions by taking a few days off, hanging out with friends, or just enjoying reading books at home. These break times actually helped me to refresh my mind and get back to working more effectively. Moreover, my working relationships were also improved, as I seldom exhibited bad emotions to my boss and colleagues. Therefore, now I understand that perceiving and managing my own emotions is very crucial into maintaining enthusiasm and productivity at work. However, to become a good teammate, I also need to learn to understand and regulaspond teo other member’s' emotions, twhichat areis important tfor building interpersonal relationships and fostering team performance.
