This bibliographical research was carried out with the purpose of gathering information that ademonstrguates the benefit of metacognitive strategies for improving the listening skills withof ninth grade pupils. A student´s booklet and a teacher´s handbook have been designed in order to show how the metacognitive strategies may help students improve their listening competence. The book “Postcards 1”, used by the Ministry of Education for ninth graders, served as a basis for implementing the outlined activities portrayed in the brochures. The first booklet gives students exercises to work on in class, and allows them to reflecting on their learning process,es and to focusing on their listening skills. Finally, the teacher´s handbook offers supports to educators toby explain dicating which mannerow these metacognitive strategies may be used
along wsithde the given activities in the student´s booklet. These brochures provide a model that explains the possible uses of the metacognitive strategies within a ninth grade classroom to enhance the students’ listening skill.
