Johnny Appleseed was allso an explorer who was among the first to travel the Territory from which the states Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana were formed. As pioneers arrived, they found his orchards and bought trees.
He expected payment in coins, clothes, or food.
Thousuands of his apple trees became apart of the early settlements.
