Human Serum Albumin (HSA) is the most abundant protein in plasma that is synthesized primary as a preproalbumin in liver. The primary form of albumin then converts to mature form via removing an N-terminal peptide before it is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The nascent HSA has many physiological roles in body owing several properties. Functions of albumin is as follows: maintenaince of colloid osmotic pressure, binding and transport biological important molecules, anti-oxidant activity, circulatory effect, capillary membrane permeability, neuroprotective effect, and stabilizing extracellular fluid volume. It has been employed extensively in pharmaceutical sciences, for example in tohe formulation of protein therapeutics, as a drug delivery, in vivo diagnostics, vaccine formulation and manufacturing, fusion of peptides, drug nanocarrier and oxygen transporter. It can also be considered as a biomarker of some organs as well as being utilized to assess of several diseases. Additionally, it can be handled in the cell storage such as cryopreservation, as a supplement in primary and stem cell culture, a certain stable materials and etc. Plasma fractionation provides the possibility of producing various biopharmaceutical agents. Cohen and colleagues, in the mid-20th century, took the first steps in the field of plasma fractionation technology. TUntill to now, laborious works have been conducted to innovate new methods of albumin production. Traditional techniques such as fractionation has been developed and are used extensively.
