With reference to Paivi’s message on open call of the applications for ‘Think Tank Team Member’, I am writing this letter to apply for the theme “How to create value through Performance Management Process”.
I understand Performance Management Process at Wärtsilä since its inception in 2009, and linkage with other People Processes over the years. My experience with Wärtsilä and previous organizations, supplements my knowledge on the performance management process and its dynamics that creates value for the organization and employees.
I want to be a member of ‘HR Think Tank’ and the theme because;:
1. The subject is a great interest of mine. In my previous organizations, I have been involved in creating tailored solutions to manage performance using different performance management methods/models those best suited with the organizations' needs.
2. I was pleased to find out about this opportunity, since I have been ‘volunteering’ during my yearly development discussions with my line manager to be either involved, or part of HR projects.
3. A I also, I believe that being involved in such projects will strengthen my knowledge by learning from others ‘Think Tank’ team members.
I can contribute as a ‘HR Think Tank member’ by sharing my personal experience and analysis on the Performance Management Process at Wärtsilä that has already transformed well over the years. I have been collecting manager’s' feedback all these years, and conducting ‘Management Focus’ which may help to contribute some initial thoughts in creating value.
My own experience with the Performance Management Process so far has been great. I always educated managers on the Wärtsilä approach for managing performance and development, which is distinct in itself when comparing with other companies.
It will be difficult to comment, or share ideas for development at this stage, as there is not enough information available other than the theme topic. It will depend on the activities thoseat will be agreed to improve further. However, taking out of the theme, there are possibilities which may help in creating value through Performance Management Process.
On my personal note, I am committed and gets excited with such work activities. Such activities gives me energy, excitement and motivation. I look forward andto be part of ‘HR Think Tank team’. Kindly share in case you need further details to qualify as an applicant.
