Introduction:
Homesickness is the distress and functional impairment caused by a
n actual or anticipated separation from home and attachment objects such as parents (http://www.uptodate.com/contents/homesickness) [1]. From the moment we are born, we formake emotional bonds with people, things, and places. Gradually, these bonds build up to form a stable environment. When we leave home for a long time, we experience a sense of real loss (https://www2.warwick.ac.uk) [2]. Most expatriate KAU students have this type of loss because they are away from their home, families, close friends, style of life, daily routines / activities, and familiar places in their hometown, especially, atduring the first year of university year. The significance of addressing this phenomenon is that it has a strong impact on the academic level of a student and later on, in his professional future. The study was chosen because the researcher was personally a witness to the silent suffering of many expatriate KAU students silently from this phenomenon, so he decided that he wanted to give them a helping hand. The study is about the impact of homesickness among expatriate KAU students.

Many expatriate students here face this phenomenon after
a few weeks afrom ther beginning of their first academic year at Uuniversity. Their minds are busy thinking about home, friends, and family. The good news, is that the majority of them get better over time by themselves. A minority of them may reach an advanced stage,; for example, the inability to sleep and concentrate well, loss of appetite, feeling sad, anxiety and, crying, suffering from difficult toy copeing and communicateing with people, and perhaps, in extreme cases, the students may fexperiel ance headache andor dizziness. As a result of these symptoms in addition to the pressures of study, the student may decide to withdraw from the university and return to the homeland, which wcould affect negatively affect their future. Here are some of the reasons for this phenomenon:
1-
sSeparation for a long time from home and everything related to it in a whole new environment for expatriate students.
2-
tTakeing responsibility for the management of the affairs of your life suddenly and for the first time after your parents used to play this role rather than you.
3- Family problems like
Ddivorce or, the death of a relative, and so on.
If you have one of the above,
ityou isare more likely to feel homesick.

The objective of the study is to show why some expatriate KAU students feel homesick
, and to educate them about how to deal well with this phenomenon, to reduce the negative effects or ovexrcome thedm it atn the end, because whenever available conditions for study are suitable, the outputs of education will be more efficient, and thus will affect the society as a whole. The research questions are:
1- Why
do some expatriate KAU students feel homesick?
2- What are the impacts of homesickness among expatriate KAU students?
3- How can expatriate KAU students overcome homesickness?
